Reception Class Spaces Available for September 2025 at Yarrells School and Nursery

We are excited to announce that Reception Class spaces are available for September 2025 at Yarrells School and Nursery. Our Reception year offers an exciting and nurturing environment where your child will embark on their educational journey, building the skills and confidence they need for a successful future.

At Yarrells, we take pride in offering a broad and creative curriculum that includes phonics, maths, music, drama, French, swimming, and more. Our approach is designed to spark curiosity and foster a love of learning in every child. We believe in nurturing not only academic success but also the development of important life skills, such as independence, teamwork, and leadership.

We are proud to report that our Reception class consistently exceeds the national, BCP, and Dorset averages for Good Level of Development (GLD). GLD is achieved when children meet the Early Learning Goals (age-related expectations) in key areas: Communication and Language, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Literacy, and Mathematics.

By focusing on these critical strands, we ensure that our children receive a well-rounded education that supports their development across all areas, setting them up for future success. Our results are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and individualised support we provide to every child, nurturing them to reach their full potential and exceed expectations.

Why Choose Yarrells for Your Child’s Reception Year?

1. Individualised Support with a Teacher and Teaching Assistant
Every Reception class at Yarrells benefits from having both a teacher and a teaching assistant in the room. This ensures each child receives the support and attention they need to thrive academically and creatively. With smaller group sizes and more personalised attention, every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.

2. A Broad and Engaging Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to engage and inspire, offering children a wide range of experiences in subjects like maths, phonics, music, dance, drama, French, and even swimming. With specialised teaching in these areas, we spark your child’s passion for learning from the start.

3. Learning Beyond the Classroom
At Yarrells, we truly believe in the value of outdoor learning. Our beautiful grounds offer endless opportunities for exploration, from nature walks to creative outdoor activities. These experiences not only enrich your child’s education but also foster curiosity and creativity, helping them grow both academically and personally.

4. Building Confidence and Strong Foundations
We focus on developing your child’s confidence through activities that promote independenceteamwork, and leadership. Whether through group projects, creative performances, or outdoor exploration, we provide a supportive environment where every child can take risks and grow.

5. Inspiring Creativity
Creative learning is at the heart of everything we do. From performances and shows to hands-on creative projects, children have the chance to express themselves and build confidence in their abilities. We believe that creativity helps children develop problem-solving skills, resilience, and the confidence to think outside the box.

Why We Are Different:

Holistic Development
At Yarrells, we take a balanced approach to education that integrates intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development. From specialised subjects like music and French to outdoor adventures in our stunning grounds, your child will have the chance to explore and develop in every aspect of life.

Building Strong Foundations
We focus not only on preparing your child for the next academic year but also on laying the groundwork for their entire educational journey. By the time your child transitions out of Pre-Prep, they will have solid academic and personal foundations to build upon, setting them up for success in the years to come.

Parent Partnership
We value the partnership between parents and the school. Through regular updates on Blossom and continuous communication, we ensure parents are always informed about their child’s progress, enabling us to work together to support their development.

At Yarrells, we focus on building strong foundations for your child’s future—not just academically, but also in the development of personal skills and interests that will shape who they become.
