Yarrells is full of happy children who love to learn and committed staff who adore teaching them! Building warm relationships with the young people we teach underpins everything we do, and we work extremely hard to foster happiness, self-confidence and aspiration for life in every young person within our lovely school.

We are fortunate to be able to do all this in the most beautiful of learning environments, with excellent facilities and rich resources – our woodland school is a haven for young people to grow.

Having worked in education for many years, my absolute passion has always been to provide an outstanding educational environment for children: one that is warm, nurturing and provides space for a meaningful, rich and rigorous curriculum. All the doors of opportunity are open for our young people and the children at Yarrells are able to explore their identities and their talents fully so that they grow both their self-confidence and their skills to meet life’s challenges with relish.

We are proud to be a non-selective school and we welcome children with a wide range of aptitudes and abilities. We work incredibly hard to support and challenge our pupils so that their learning is exciting, stimulating and makes their brains ache – in a good way!

This helps maintain their enthusiasm and curiosity as well as giving them a tangible sense of personal achievement, whether they are striving for a grammar school place at 11+, a scholarship award to senior schools or overcoming a curriculum area of genuine personal difficulty.

We have an enviable reputation for facilitating high personal achievement in our pupils as well as significant individual progress over time. Our most recent ISI report speaks in glowing terms of the success we have helped garner for each child in our care. We are so fulfilled by our work and seeing the commitment and passion bursting from every member of our community each day makes me beam with pride!
