Homework

Children have a homework schedule appropriate for their year group, with a focus on maths, spelling and reading in the lower part of the school.  Once they are in Year 5 & 6 they receive two pieces of homework each night. 

Some of the homework they receive is topic based, with a choice of ways to present things and plenty of opportunities to be creative. Some projects may be longer-lasting so can be done during weekend and holiday periods because we appreciate children have long days with us, often head out to training in sport or dramatic arts at times in their week, and also need time to relax!

We have high expectations but will always be flexible in our approach if homework is overwhelming.

It should be meaningful and helpful; not stressful.
