Head of Pre-Prep & Early Years, Year 2 Teacher & Designated Safeguarding Lead

Prior to working at Yarrells I taught at two leading London Prep Schools and helped to set up a Pre-Prep at a Prep boarding school on the Dorset/Wiltshire border. I have also taught in schools in Australia and Denmark. In my previous roles I have been Head of Geography as well as Assessment Lead and English Lead for the Pre-Prep.

In my role as Head of Pre-Prep, I am passionate about early years education and I believe it is our job to build strong foundations for your child’s future learning. Yarrells provides our pupils with a creative curriculum giving the children the opportunity to find the area of learning they are passionate about. I work with a fantastic team of practitioners who use their expertise and passion to deliver a fun, hands on and stimulating curriculum, which meets the needs of every child in their care.

My own sons attended Yarrells and this opportunity has given them both the best possible start to their education, as well as nurturing them into independent, well-mannered and hardworking individuals. Not only have they both had an excellent start with their academic learning, but one of my sons developed a love for dance and rugby, and the other for music.

Outside of school, I love walking and spending time with family and friends. I enjoy cooking and reading as well as trying to keep fit by going to the gym or swimming. Family values are very important to me and Yarrells, with its fantastic family feel, is a wonderful school to work in.

I attended Nursery at Yarrells when it was called St. Monica’s and I am now very proud to be part of the teaching team. When my youngest son visited the school a few terms after he left, he told me that the children really do not realise how lucky they are to be at our school.
