Assistant Head (Pastoral), Head of Learning Support, Pastoral Care Lead & Designated Safeguarding Lead

Prior to joining the team at Yarrells, I had a varied career teaching in a range of locations across the world. I spent an exciting fifteen months teaching in an international school in Yokohama, Japan and have especially fond memories of celebrating Sakura (cherry blossom season) with my class. Following this, I taught in a learning centre in Sydney, Australia, implementing a specialist multi-sensory learning programme to adults and children who had a range of learning difficulties. After travelling, firstly I taught in an urban middle school in London and then moved to Dorset to teach in a rural middle school in Blandford. To become a more specialised teacher in SEND, I took up the role as SENCO at Yarrells.

Both my children attended the school and I feel very privileged to have shared this experience with them; Yarrells provided them with a perfect start in life and they both have wonderful memories of their time here.

As Deputy Head, it has been a pleasure supporting the Head Teachers over the years, helping achieve their vision whilst, at the same time, continuing to ensure that Yarrells maintains its magical feel and core values. Winnie, my cockapoo, now comes to school with me every day and it gives me great pleasure to see the joy that she brings to everyone.

Outside of school, I love nothing more than to walk along the beach with Winnie, ending my walk with a nice cup of tea at my beach hut! Yarrells has been a major part of my and my family's life so I am very passionate about helping the children make wonderful memories here to treasure forever.
